Fitness is Not About Having All the Answers

Deciding to get healthy is one of the best decisions you can make. It also doesn't require you to know everything about the process. The most important thing is that you have made the choice to improve your life. Great!

Fitness is a Process

Fitness is a process and an ongoing journey of learning. What works best for you is discovered mostly through trial and error. There will be frustrations and victories as you fine-tune your daily choices. It's not about having all the answers because you never will. This applies to all of us at every stage of fitness.

Our bodies change and fitness programs need revising along the way. Your food intake will require evaluation and re-evaluation as you lose weight and gain muscle. Getting enough rest is another important part of maintaining a healthy body. Methods of exercise that work for you may not feel the best for someone else.

Fitness applications will be different for each of us making health improvement an individual process of learning. There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all fitness program.

It's Not a Quick Fix 

There is no free pass to fitness and it does come at a price. The cost is the investment of your time, effort, and making health priority. Many of us may think there is a quick answer to results. We gravitate toward pseudo-fitness and fad diets believing false claims. As consumers, we are spending too much money on gimmicks and unregulated supplements.

There is nothing you can buy in a bottle that will make you fit and healthy. True health is achieved by eating right and exercise.

Work in Progress

It's really okay to take things slow and enjoy the process of getting fit. You are a work in progress striving to be better than yesterday. Mistakes are not seen as failures but opportunities to learn and grow. The mastery of adopting a healthy lifestyle comes from recognizing the areas in your life that need changing. You will then be able to create healthy habits to reach your fitness goals.

Create Healthy Habits

You learn how to do adopt a healthy lifestyle by creating healthy habits. This is done through your daily choices. Consider the following:

  • What are you eating and drinking regularly?
  • How much are you exercising per week?
  • How much sleep do you get per night?
  • Do you live a balanced life?
  • How about stress management?
  • Are you making health priority?
  • Do you talk bad about yourself?
  • Are you a positive person?
  • Do you make excuses for not being a healthy person?

Fitness is not about having all the answers. It does require you to want to change an unhealthy lifestyle. Each day is an opportunity to learn and grow in a healthy direction. You can do it!
